Services at the Department of Anesthesia are available 24-hours. This ensures that pre operative advice and investigations are available for all patients at any given time. The anesthesia team works to provide a painless surgical experience and to ensure patient safety during and post surgery. The Department of Anesthesia is managed by 12 experienced Anesthesiologists of proven track record. A team of 4 anesthetists is available every day.

• One anesthetist is present in the hospital round-the-clock for emergency situations. This 24-hour availability enables us to take up the most complicated and high risk cases with the confidence that the post –operative period will be safe as well as pain free .
• One anesthetist looks after the work in the periphery like CT, MRI procedures, ERCPs and Pre-anesthetic check-up, post-operative follow-up and postoperative analgesia.

• Patient Identity is confirmed by checking the Identification bands and conducting time-out procedure before Surgery.
• Extensive monitoring is done during surgery to avoid any catastrophe.
• Infection Preventation: Patients are prone to get infection during surgery. Precautions are taken at every step, starting from maintenance of OT environment and practicing standard precautions throughout.
• After surgery, patients are monitored in the post operative ward or surgical intensive care ward as required.
